Hi Everyone,
This will be the final e-mail from the Baroque Players of Hamilton.
The Mohawk College Singers presents "Viva Vivaldi!" Music from Sunny
Italy. The concert will feature Vivaldi's famous "Gloria" as well as
"Ostro Picta", the seldom performed motet introduction to the Gloria for
soprano and orchestra. The choir will also sing Durante's rarely-heard
"Magnificat". The orchestra will perform Albinoni's Sonata da Chiesa a 6
con Tromba, as well as the exciting "Winter" concert from Vivaldi's "The
Four Seasons."
Joining the Choir will be Carolyn Sinclair, soprano; Elaine Robertson,
mezzo-soprano; Rona Goldensher, baroque violin; and Paul Sanvidotti,
baroque trumpet; as well as an orchestra of period instruments.
The concert is Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 7.30 p.m. at Christ's Church
Cathedral on James Street North (at Colbourne). Tickets are $20 general
admission and $15 students/seniors and are available at the door.
This is the Mohawk College Singers final concert conducted by their
Artistic Director, Michael Jarvis.
This will be a lovely concert. Hope to see you there!
Many thanks.
Sincerely,
Michael
