[Wftl-lug] NTFS under Kubuntu 7.04

I have an external hard drive (NTFS format) that I'd
like to read and write to with Kubuntu 7.04.  Right
now permissions are not allowing this.  Should I wipe
and re-format as VFAT?.  Needs to be used as dual boot
for now.

How do I do this in Win XP?  It keeps wanting to
re-format as NTFS.
