EXACTLY what I was about to suggest... but I don't mind that you beat me to it.

By the way, the best way to back up your Registry is with a utility
called ERUNT, available from
<http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt>, which does a
much-more-complete backup of the Registry than you can do with MS's
utilities.  It also includes NTREGOPT, which does a really nice job of
cleaning up the Registry.
