Hey Kevin,
You have to remember Fedora is a development platform. From the
Fedora site: "The goal of Fedora is the rapid progress of free and
open source software..." If you want stable, long term support then I
would suggest Ubuntu LTS, Debian or CentOS.
I don't think Fedora ever claimed to be "such a stable platform to run
on", long term anyway.
