I don't have a 4311 - mine is a 4306, which works with the bcm43xx driver,
fortunately for me...
It looks like the 4311 is only supported from kernel 2.6.20.6
onwards. See
http://bcm43xx.berlios.de/?go=devices
If you use the bcm43xx you will also need the ( closed source ) firmware.
See for example
http://developer.berlios.de/projects/bcm43xx/
where the bcm "fwcutter" is mentioned. The fwcutter grabs the firmware
for you.
On ubuntu the firmware is directly obtainable, as an installable
package, from a third party site:
http://ubuntu.cafuego.net/pool/feisty-cafuego/bcm43xx/bcm43xx-firmware_1.3-1ubuntu2_all.deb
( that's a direct link to the .deb file - the website is
http://ubuntu.cafuego.net/dists/feisty-cafuego/bcm43xx/ )
I "know" cafuego from IRC , and his packages are trustworthy, by the way.
I don't know if FC has an rpm available for the fwcutter or the complete
firmware "à-la-cafuego", but it might be worth checking. Of course none of
this will actually work, unless your kernel is as mentioned above.
The other possibility might be to use ndiwrapper - but I don't know about
that, since I use the bcm43xx on PPC Mac iBook G4 , so ugly wrappers for
windows drivers are out of the question ;-)
