[Wftl-lug] Gmail, mouse pointers

Yes, I am planning to do that, send an email with suggestions to Google.
Gmail must be the longest serving beta ever, 3 years, and counting. I have
had it right from the start, although most of that time as a forwarding
address only, lately I have started to use all its facilities. At this time,
if I want to print someone's Contact information I paste it into an email to
myself, than go into Windows to print it........ there is no Linux driver
for my printer.
I have some other issues as well:
IM with other Gmailers only, no AOL, MS, Yahoo.
When you archive an email, or what they refer to as a conversation, it does
not remove the pointer from the Sent box, and I think it should. I realize
that there always is only one copy, with multiple pointers, a clever way
to do it, but to the user this is transparent and just another copy.
Perhaps, when the conversation has a special tag, such as WFTL-LUG, gmail,
upon archiving the string, should offer to actually remove the tag from All
Mail. All this to keep things lean and simple.
Contacts. To put Notes immediately after Name and Primary Email, before
phone numbers, is not very smart. Phone numbers are far more often accessed
than notes. I have many contacts without an email address, people without a
computer - believe it or not, there are such people - or businesses or
doctors that do not give out email addresses.
Still trying to find a bold and large mouse pointer for KDE.
It appears that Firefox, unlike IE, has no way to put a URL link on the
desktop, i.e., a link you need for a few days but for which you do not want
to create a bookmark. I suppose one could achieve that in some round and
about way but that's not the point.
Whereas my SuSE 10.2 does not recognize flash memory and k3b has some
problems with CDs, live PCLinuxOS shows none of these shortcomings.
You all be well,
pe
