I have to agree here as well. Perhaps the threat rate to children has 
marginally increased, but nowhere near what it's been made out to be in the 
press. I'm continually amazed at how current parents coddle and protect 
their kids. I say, educate your kids about threats, teach them how to 
defend themselves, and how to scream in such a way as to break glass. ;-}
