hi,
one of my friends is an 80 year-old guy who is also a rough editor for the
DTP project. I am trying to install Google earth for him. He is running
Kubuntu on a really fast machine, AMD 64 bit. We found directions here for
installing google earth, and followed the instructions exactly. We did
presumably install google earth correctly, because we are able to get the
splash screen when launching google earth from the command line with the
command
$ googleearth
http://www.macewan.org/2006/06/12/how-to-install-google-earth-for-linux/
But google earth seems to choke at the splash screen. It would be really
great to get google earth working for this guy under Linux so that he can
track Santa on Google earth.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
