It's been delisted before. I can be glad that Mcbride failed, but he will
be fine financially if sco perished. What about all the employees laid off
during this case so they could fund it. What of the remaining employeers
who were not out to break Linux, but merely working in tech support
answering questions on Unix servers? People with families and children
facing uncertain futures on the holidays. Can I raise a glass to that?
Should I raise a glass to that? The failure of the lawsuit is good enough.
That is justice, anything else is revenge and innocent victims get taken
down in revenge.
Hi Patrick, everyone:
Yes I do understand that there will be innocent bystanders who will get
hurt over this. Most of the damage would come from a failing business
regardless.
However, a quick death to this company will at least give its employees
a chance to move on.
I was in a similar situation. I could see that the core business of the
company that I was working for was dying. I could have stayed on until
the bitter end, but I chose to go back to school for a chance at a
better career. Twenty years later the core business of that company
was toast. Who was it? Kodak. I left in the mid 1980's.
By the way, the diploma (Library Technician) that I received did help
me move on, but, for the most part, its merit was grossly overstated.
But over all, I was better off by leaving Kodak, rather than working
in a dead end situation, waiting for my pink slip.
I cannot understand why anyone would work for a company with a business
plan of suing volunteers. Especially when it is obvious that the core
legitimate business of the firm is dying.
Let us toast the demise of Scox as well as the digital camera. The
digital camera sure made a mess of my financial plans, but I cannot
think of any other invention that has aided the environment more than
it has. If there are any good souls left at Scox, I hope that they find
a better future soon.
Cheers
John
