[Wftl-lug] Sysadmin hires in Canada

Hello Michael,

Given the sheer number of idiots running about with Microsoft training
certificates and little of any practical or real systems
administration - I say good luck with the search.

There may be something you or they may wish to consider,
virtualization. VMWare.

Our lowly data center on the campus of ENMU used to be a total
Microsoft-only shop. This has changed drastically over the last two
years. Linux has replaced a huge number of Micro servers.

At least 23 of our 75 servers in the data center or around campus have
been virtualized. Of these 23 the Win-based servers, including domain
controllers, are all virtual.

Linux and virtualization has stabilized our systems operations
considerably. Operational down time is nearly zero.

As a side note, with the demise of Gateway, we are evaluating two
other server vendors. Dell and HP specifically.

In a teleconference with the HP reps, one of the questions we asked
about their HP servers running Linux and virtualization. They said HP
has helped deploy Linux on HP servers in several of Microsoft's
production centers. These reps said Microsoft is seriously looking at
Linux.

Well, my morning drink is ready. Hope my babbling helps in some
capacity.
