Hi,
Did I tell you that I had problems with locales?
well seems that they are stable by now... whether they are working or
not....
Since don't remember which apt-get update && apt-get upgrade since I'm
having a strange problem...
I'm running Kubuntu Edgy.
The keyboard is a 104 US layout one.
I have set in the System Settings -> Regional & Language -> Layout
Enable keyboard layouts
then I select
Generic 104-key PC
variant intl
(the command reads: setxkbmap -model pc104 -layout us -variant intl)
Well in all non-KDE applications, when I put ~+n (for example) I obtain ñ .
In the KDE applications (like Kwrite, Kate, Kopete, Korganizer) I obtain ~n
Even worst with " I the KDE apps, appear two small rectangles (as if
there were some problem with the encoding)
I've been googling around several days now.
I also move the .kderc and .kde/ directory from my home-directory (to
*_old) and started from scratch....
same behavior!
The locale reads:
locale
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=en_US:en
LC_CTYPE=en_US
LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=
Any clue?
thanks in advance
talueguito
