I'm also very happy to see contributions coming from others. You don't
have to know a topic cold. There's a discussion tab at the top of the
main page that opens a discussion page for questions and discussion
around making the zine.

I'm working under the assumption that we're eventually going to do a
print & pdf magazine with a web site to allow community contributions.
Discussions like Alan's 'kernel panic' are spot on. These are problems
people do face installing Linux.

I like what we have so far, and it seems like people are using the
wiki, which is the most important part. If we start having a problem
with spam then we might consider moving to something that involves
secure logins, etc., but for now simplicity over security (sounds like
Microsoft).

Actually since I run a computer recycling project I'm in the unique
position to install and provide screen shots of Linux installed on a
lot of computers. What I would need is volunteers willing to put
together and install Linux on the hardware. If you live in the
Kitchener/Waterloo region and are interested in downloading and
installing Linux on systems for the purpose of a big comparison
article, please leave me a message on my work answering machine at
(519)743-1151 ext. 225.

Agreed. I can see it growing very quickly. I'm going to post snippits
of the discussion here to my local LUG web site to encourge some local
development.

True. I have a book at home with '10 Things a newsletter must have.'
I'll post the list here the next time I have the book handy.
Cheers,
Charles
