[Wftl-lug] As-U-Type (was I am hearing blind people discussing the merits of colour!)

Hi John,
Now, I'm going to suggest something ;)))
Have a look at:
http://scribes.sourceforge.net/index.html
I've just downloaded the Dapper version from:
http://user.informatik.uni-goettingen.de/~sklemer/debs/
I've had a quick play with it and it does *at
least* LOL one of the functions you mention, after
typing a word into the text editor, it remembers
it. It then offers a little window, like
As-U-Type, with the word. I put in:
Linen, Linux, Lining, Linear
and then each time I typed "Lin" it offered a
little box from which you can use the keyboard to
select the correct word from. Very cute I must say.
I came across this today quite by accident (I wish
I could say I was desperately trying to find
something for you, but I wasn't).
It's spell-checker seems agnostic about 'colour'
vs 'color' - don't *anyone* start me on this! I
promise, I'll come over there and "I'll rip yer
bloody arms orf!" (1) (2)
If you've got time, check it out and see what it's
like if you've got time and let us know.
(1) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aunty_Jack - see
second paragraph, sentence one and three.
(2) Quite right John, my address is a bit of a
give away :)
Regards,
Patrick
