[Wftl-lug] Disoriented Toshiba Qosmio

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G-25 series with dual HD's just back from
warrenty work. Main drive was WinXP and 2nd drive was Ubuntu. When I
turn it on the Quosmio page comes up and then the Ubuntu switcher page
starts with: "Looking for the Grub."
Next line is:      Error level 12...

That's it.
I'm told by a friend to rewrite the mbr to bring up the window.

How can I do this or is there another way?

Frustrated and still love Linux.
