And yes, we use FOSS (LInux and apps) on all our servers and in our products. So that is not the issue. The issue is desktop FOSS. Both apps (like OOo) and the OS. And that is where I am not making any headway at all. As you say:

It means that you and your employer might need the level of functionality offered by the market leader, and are willing to pay a premium for it. 

That is unfortunately where we are at. If MS apps and OS had split a few years ago, the world would be very different now and we'd have a proper Desktop Linux already, I am sure.

I agree with the arguments btw. Just no progress in a corporate desktop setting.
