One thing.. you said:

Ah yes. But that is exactly the problem! 

When I point out the issues (and they are all true), all I get is reactions like
  1.. you and your people cannot be very good 
  2.. It works for my nephew 
  3.. it cannot be that Microsoft has a product that bad; it must be you
They Flat. Out. Refuse. To. Believe. that Bill Gates's Windows ($50bn in the bank) could be less than perfect. So all the issues (and they sound oh-so-familiar) must be ours. And my pushback merely sour grapes.
